Co-owners, Pride of Persia Rug Co.
“A handwoven rug can turn a house into a home. Many buyers, though,
are daunted by selecting rugs. Much of that fear has to do with the reputation
of the rug market as arbitrary, confusing, deceptive and full of
pushy salespeople. Find a rug expert you can trust. Be patient. Before
you buy, learn enough about rugs to find out what you like and what
works in your home. The choices may seem overwhelming, but you can
focus on rugs with real potential by determining your size, color, design
and budget requirements.
“Beginning with the rug can simplify the design process for your
room. The rug should be an anchor piece. With the rug as the starting
point, selecting colors and patterns for the walls and upholstery becomes
much easier. If you don’t have the luxury of building up from the rug, take
a swatch of fabric, a pillow or a paint chip along with your measurements
when you look for rugs.”
